How Much Does a Paver Driveway Cost in Florida?
Most Florida homeowners pay $12 to $25 per square foot for an installed paver driveway. On a 900 square foot two car drive, that works out to about $10,800 to $22,500. Premium materials or a difficult site push the rate to $28 to $40 per square foot.
Those figures come from published market guides rather than our own price list. We quote a driveway after seeing the site, because the dig and the tear out change the math. This post shows what the ranges cover and what moves your number inside them.
How much does a paver driveway cost per square foot in Florida?
Florida paver guides published in late 2025 put the installed range at $12 to $25 per square foot. That rate covers the pavers, the excavation, the base rock, the bedding sand, the edge restraint, and the labor. Complex jobs with premium stone run $28 to $40 per square foot.
National guides land close to the same place. Angi’s 2026 data shows a normal range of $6,000 to $18,000 per driveway, with an average near $12,000. HomeAdvisor reports the same $6,000 to $18,000 spread and the same $12,000 average.
Angi puts the national rate at $10 to $30 per square foot. The Florida range sits inside that band and is tighter at both ends. A bid well under $12 per square foot deserves a hard look at the base spec.
Paver driveway cost by driveway size
Square footage is the first number in any bid. Length times width gets you close enough to check a quote against the market. The table applies the Florida rates above to common driveway sizes.

The stone you pick moves the rate more than any other single choice. Florida market guides break the installed cost out by material.
Concrete pavers run $12 to $22 per square foot and cover most driveways here. Clay brick runs $14 to $25 and holds the classic red tone. Travertine runs $18 to $35, and porcelain runs $20 to $40.
National guides show wider spreads because they average every market in the country. HomeAdvisor lists concrete pavers at $10 to $25 per square foot. Brick lands at $10 to $45 there, and natural stone at $15 to $60.
Color is a cost decision too, in a roundabout way. Dark pavers hold heat under year round sun and fade sooner. Lighter tan and gray blends stay cooler underfoot and hide dust between cleanings.
Where the money goes on a Florida paver driveway
Base prep is the biggest hidden cost and the reason a driveway stays flat. Brevard sits on sand, and sand shifts when it gets soaked or loaded. The dig for a driveway goes deeper than for a patio. Rock then goes in over the cut and gets compacted in layers.
Bedding sand is screeded over the packed base, and edge restraint pins down the outside rows. Tires push on those edges every time you turn in. Skimp there and you get sunken tire tracks within a couple of seasons.
Labor is the other large block of the number. Angi puts paver labor at $50 to $80 per hour, or $5 to $15 per square foot. HomeAdvisor lands at $5 to $10 per square foot for the same work.

Is a paver driveway cheaper than concrete?
No. Plain gray concrete costs far less per square foot to install than pavers. Pavers cost more in material and take more labor hours. The base under them also has to be dug deeper.
The tradeoff shows up later. Concrete cracks in place, and a cracked slab gets patched or replaced. Pavers come up one at a time, so a settled area gets relaid with the same stones.
If the budget points to concrete, we pour concrete driveways as well. A plain slab with a clean finish still lifts the front of a house. Some owners run a paver apron or border against a concrete field to split the difference.
Is a paver driveway worth the extra cost?
For most Brevard homes it comes down to two things. How long you plan to stay, and how the house reads from the road. A paver driveway changes curb appeal more than paint does.
In an HOA suburb the driveway is the biggest thing people see from the street. Check your community rules on color and pattern before you order anything. Some HOAs keep an approved list, and a rejected driveway is an expensive mistake.
Repairs are the practical argument for pavers. A tree root lifts three stones. Those three come out, the base gets rebuilt, and the same stones go back. The patch blends in because the material has weathered with the rest of the drive.
There is a middle path when the existing slab is solid. Thin pavers can be set on top of sound concrete, which is a paver overlay. Skipping the tear out and the deep dig takes real hours out of the job. On the beachside, salt air is not a problem for concrete pavers or clay brick.
